Last Saturday Chase and I finally went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in La. We’ve been dying to go since it opened in April and we finally had some free time to go. We also live less than 10 minutes away so we can go whenever we want-every weekend lol.
It’s cost effective to buy a pass, a one day ticket is $99 and the cheapest pass is $119. We also realized as the day goes on the lines are significantly shorter. It’s better to explore and visit all the shops and eat at the restaurant, Three Broomsticks (or anywhere else in the park) and then go on the rides.
We are HUGE harry potter fans so we were so amazed by everything! We went into every shop and explored every square inch of the park. The main ride, harry potter and the forbidden journey is amazing!! As you wait in line you go through the castle which is super cool. The ride itself is so realistic, there are some parts that have the spiders from the second book and the dementors that get so close to you (I had to close my eyes lol) It moves a lot (they do warn you about motion sickness) but they should put it in bold and outline it because I got off feeling pretty sick. The other ride, flight of the hippogriff is a short rollercoaster. You do get to see Hagrid’s hut while you’re waiting in line and buckbeak at the beginning of ride.
We went into Honeydukes and bought a lot of candy and pumpkin juice (of course). We also went into Ollivanders. You can wait in line for the attraction and watch a wand choose a wizard or you can just go into the store and look at all the wands. We waited in line (about 30 minutes) to see the attraction. They choose two people from the group and I was one of the two to be selected (of course I was overly excited). Chase and I already had our wands chosen onΒ Pottermore. I have a hazel, 10 3/4”, phoenix feather core wand and Chase has an ash, 10 1/2”, dragon heartstring wand. They don’t have specific wands at the store, they have all the different woods that are interactive, meaning that at both parks, LA and Orlando, you can use the wands at different points throughout the park to use spells on objects. They also have all the characters wands. Chase and I both bought a wand and used it at the various points.. it’s kinda silly but who cares it’s fun pretending to use magic π
You also have to try the frozen butterbeer (better than the regular one) because the ice helps dilute it, so it’s not as sweet.
Chase and I were like kids walking around the park. We had so much fun and I’m so happy we live so close, so whenever we need a harry potter fix we can go π
