After a few years I finally have a routine of supplements and vitamins that make me feel my best. I’ve gotten a few questions about them, so I wanted to share what I take.
Seed – Broad Spectrum 24-strain Probiotic + Prebiotic
I started taking Seed about 6 months ago and it’s definitely helped with my bloating issues. I haven’t noticed any other significant changes, but I have missed a few days here and there and I definitely noticed so whatever it’s doing works. I have a few friends that take it and struggled with constipation prior, and since has helped regulate them.
After searching for the best probiotic to take, I chose Seed because it’s backed by science. Their scientific board is comprised of scientists, researchers, doctors, and authors across multiple fields from molecular biology to gastroenterology. Seed is also unique because most probiotics aren’t able to survive to your colon, but their capsule is designed so that it can.
And on top of all of this, they’re making a sustainable impact. Your first delivery comes in a reusable glass jar with mycelium packaging foam, and refills come in a mailer and get emptied into the reusable jar.
Hum – Here Comes The Sun Vitamin D3
I had a vitamin D deficiency for a couple years. When I first got tested my level was extremely low so my doctor put me on a higher dose than the recommended daily dose. I’m now at the range I need to be and I have noticed a huge difference in my energy and overall immunity (I don’t get sick as much as I did). I highly recommend getting tested at your next annual check up. Vitamin D deficiency is a very common deficiency because most people don’t take a supplement and think that they’ll get enough through sun exposure and diet.
I chose Hum because of the ingredients and their sustainability mission. Although they don’t have reusable packaging. Each bottle is made of recycled plastic and for every bottle you buy you’re saving 2 bottles from entering the ocean.

Vital Proteins – Marine Collagen
I wish I started taking collagen when I was in college. It’s one of those things that every adult tells you to start when you’re young and you push off until you’re almost in your 30s and you realize you need to get your sh*t together. Once I started taking collagen regularly (about 2 years now), I noticed a huge difference in my hair and nails.
I chose Vital Proteins because of the marine collagen option (I’m pescaterian). They have a lot of different options and for the price point and value I think it’s the best. Some people have claimed it tastes / smells fishy. I personally have never experienced that. If I did, I definitely would not be taking it 2 years later.
I know a few people take liquid collagen and say it’s better but it’s so $$$$$. If you have tried both and think liquid is worth it, let me know.

IYKYK…. But seriously this is by far the best supplement I take and I just started taking it 2 months ago. It consists of 75 vitamins, minerals, probiotics, whole-food sourced superfoods, and adaptogens in one serving. So if you hate taking a million different supplements or are worried that you’re not getting enough nutrients through food this is your saving grace.
I take mine with water and it’s fine. The taste is similar to a pre-workout IMO, it’s not great but it’s not nasty. Although I’ve gotten used to it and it doesn’t really taste like much now.
I chose Athletic greens for convenience. I don’t think there is anything else out there on the market that offers something similar. I’m also picky with ingredients so I like that they use high quality ingredients. And of course their sustainability impact is also a plus.
Ora – Plant-Based Superfood Protein
I searched high and low to find a vegan protein powder with good quality and ingredients. Ora protein powder has 19 organic superfood ingredients, 21 g of protein, complete amino acid profile, and digestive enzymes. It comes in different flavors – I have vanilla chai and I think it tastes pretty good, considering most taste like sh*t.
I chose Ora because of what they value – quality, science, ingredient sourcing, and sustainability. It’s also hard to find a good plant-protein that also tastes good.
I’m sure by now you’ve noticed a common theme as to why I choose a brand and this doesn’t just go for vitamins and supplements. As I’ve gotten older I care a lot about what I’m putting into my body. Obviously I’m not perfect and I like to indulge here and there but It’s important to make sure that you’re nourishing your body with all the basic nutrients it needs. I believe when you do this it gives you more freedom, so on those days when you’re not eating the best or after a night of too many espresso martinis, your body is still getting all the important nutrients it needs.
