Humidifiers have been popular for years, but recently have caught more attention since having hydrated dewy skin has become so popular, and let’s face it who doesn’t want glowing skin.
Here are a few benefits from using a humidifier:
+ hydrated skin
+ clearer nasal passages
+ fewer cold and allergy symptoms
+ alleviate snoring
+ better sleep
When the humidity level in your space is too low, your body releases its own moisture into the air, known as transepidermal water loss. When this happens your skin becomes more dry and it can increase aging and make your skin look dull, on top of other issues. Ultimately, humidity levels at home should be between 40-60% depending on your comfort. You can use a hygrometer to measure humidity in your home. Amazon has a lot to choose from that are very affordable – here’s the one I use.
Traditionally, there has been two types of humidifiers, cold mist and warm mist. With warm mist, the water is cleaned by being heated and then released as mist into the air. This process tends to be cleaner than a cold mist humidifier, but it reaches a smaller area of space. Also, since it’s warm, it has to be cleaned more frequently to prevent mold growth. With a cold mist humidifier, the water is cleaned through a filter and then released as a mist into the air. Unlike the warm mist, it reaches a larger area of space and doesn’t have to be cleaned as frequently.
When I was researching humidifiers, my top priorities were that it could fit on my nightstand, easy to clean, and didn’t create mold. After a ton of research I choose the humidifier from Canopy.
Unlike the cold and warm mist humidifiers, the canopy humidifier uses filtered, hydrated air, so there’s no mist! It also has smart sensors that keep the machine running until it’s completely dry, so there’s no opportunity for mold growth. This was one of the main reasons why I chose it. On top of its insane technology, it also comes with an aroma puck that sits on top of the machine, so it’s a humidifier and a diffuser in one!
Other highlights:
+ Easy to clean – some parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher
+ 2.5 L tank that lasts up to 36 hours. (I usually refill mine every 2-3 days)
+ Auto sensor that maintains moisture day and night (increased at night for better sleep)
+ Filter sensor will illuminate when it needs to be changed (every 6 weeks)
+ 3 machines, up to 500 sq ft, up to 1000 sq ft, and for baby
I’ve been using my Canopy humidifier for 2 months now and have noticed a difference in my skin. I also noticed that Chase has been snoring less. This can also be attributed to him eating healthier and working out more, but when we traveled to Arizona for a week, I didn’t bring my ear plugs because I hadn’t needed them and he kept me up / I woke up to his snoring multiple nights.
So if you want to maintain optimal humidity levels in your home or are unhappy with your current humidifier, I would check out Canopy. I truly don’t think there is a better humidifier on the market that offers what it does!
